A beginner's guide to texas holdem poker

Texas holdem poker is a popular poker game for beginners due to its simple rules. It is played with a minimum of two and a maximum of ten players per table. The aim of texas holdem poker is to make the best possible 5 card hand from a combination of 2 pocket and 5 community cards.

Before the poker game begins, compulsory bets are paid by two players. The small blind is paid to left of the dealer and the big blind (twice the small blind amount) is paid by the player to the left of the small blind. These bets ensure betting action and move around in a clockwise direction at the start of each texas Holdem Poker game.

Texas holdem poker starts with each player receiving two pocket cards that only they can see. The pre-flop betting round is the first betting round, and each player acts upon their available options of check, call, raise or fold. An advantage to playing texas holdem online is that only the available choices show.

In any poker game, the betting round is complete when each player has either folded or matched the bet. Once the pre-flop betting round is complete, the dealer burns (discards) a card. This is done before any community cards are dealt. The three community cards, called the flop, are dealt in the centre. Another betting round is completed.

The dealer then deals the next community card, which is the turn card. The third betting round is completed before the final community card (the river) is revealed. The final betting round is completed and the showdown reveals the winner. When playing texas holdem online, the software will calculate the winner automatically.
