Playing Advance Backgammon

So now you know the basics of playing Backgammon - you are comfortable playing the game and have even won a game or two. So what should be your next move? You should now try to improve your Backgammon skills and aim at mastering advance backgammon. You can do this easily by going in for more variations. These variations will force you think hard about the strategy you will adopt in playing the game. Some of the variants you should try are Nackgammon, Hyper-Backgammon, Long-Gammon or Rollover. Each one will be difficult in its own way, and this will help you to improve your skills while playing the game in the normal way.

Long-Gammon is one of the basic variants of advance backgammon. You can try out. It will enhance your existing skills by altering the games basic strategy. In Long-Gammon, two players will place their checkers on the other players home board, on one point. This alters the way the game starts, extends the game, and forces you to think of new strategies.

Some of the variant games of advance backgammon will force you to change your strategy by setting up the checkers on different points, at the start of the game. To advance your skills, you may try this out on your own so that you can learn the dynamics of the different checker moves.

This is a mere sketch of the ways in which you can become a more advance Backgammon player. You have to go on experimenting on your own, and go on learning all the time, as you do in life.
