Basic Blackjack

Have you noticed the recent rise in popularity of the game of basic blackjack and want to learn how to play? If you do you are in luck—it’s incredibly easy to learn blackjack so you can learn how to play and start playing a basic blackjack game today!

The game of basic blackjack is played against a blackjack dealer. The objective of the game is to obtain a blackjack hand which is better than the dealer’s hand without breaking 21. In basic blackjack hand values are determined by adding together all of your cards. Cards numbered 2 through 10 are worth their numerical value in points (i.e. a 3 card is worth 3 points); Jacks, Queens and Kings are worth 10 points each; and Aces are worth either 1 point or 11 points—you choose.

To begin a basic blackjack game players place their bets. Then each player receives two cards, face up, from the dealer. The dealer receives two cards as well—one face up and one face down. You may choose to “stand” with your cards if you are satisfied with your hand’s value. You may also “hit”, asking the dealer to deal you additional cards to raise the value of your hand. At the end of a basic blackjack game the dealer will expose his face down card to reveal his hand and the winners are determined.

As you can see, it is very easy to learn blackjack. Now that you know how to play blackjack you can give the game a try, online or off. Enjoy!
