Blackjack Guide to Rules

Every blackjack player can use a blackjack guide when it comes to learning the rules of the game. It can be helpful to have a blackjack guide to explain to you how to play blackjack and how the game works in general. Hopefully this article can serve as your guide.

The game of blackjack is played one-on-one against the blackjack dealer, although many players can sit at the same table and play against the blackjack dealer at the same time. The objective in blackjack is to obtain a hand that is better than the dealer’s hand which means that it is worth more points than the dealer’s hand without exceeding 21 points. Obviously the best possible hand is worth 21 points and is known as “blackjack”.

To start the game the dealer gives each of the players 2 cards, which he deals face up on the table. To himself he deals 2 cards as well but one is face down. Based on your own 2-card hand and the dealer’s 1 face up card you can decide one of two things—that you are satisfied with your hand and want to “stay” or that you want the dealer to “hit” you with an additional card to increase the value of a low hand.

Once all of the players are finished playing the dealer flips his second card over to expose his hand and the winners are determined and paid. Hopefully this blackjack guide has helped you to understand the rules of blackjack. Please refer back to this article as your blackjack guide as you start to play this wonderful game!
