The tip simply says that players should surrender (ie. forfeit half their initial bets and not continue with their hand) when they are dealt a hard 15 against the dealer’s 10, or when they are dealt a 16 against the dealer’s Ace, 9 or 10. This tip only applies if blackjack surrender is an option in the game, obviously.

Players will also find online blackjack tips regarding splitting their cards. A rule of thumb is never to split 10’s and to always split 8’s and Aces, irrespective of what the dealer’s card shows. On the flip side, players are encouraged never to split what is known as the ‘F’s. This refers to face cards, fours and fives.

This is a strategy that lists certain moves that players should or shouldn’t do during a game, based on the dealer’s cards and probability counts. For example, players are advised to stand on a hard 17 (or higher) if the dealer’s card shows 7 or lower. Alternatively, they are advised to hit a hard 12 if the dealer’s card shows 2, 3, 7 or higher.
