Learn to Play Blackjack and Win

You can play blackjack with just a dealer and one player, or with multiple players, The object of the game is to get your cards as close to 21 without going over. If you go over 21, it is called “busting” and if you bust, you lose. If you do not bust, the player that has the closest to 21, without going over, wins. When you play blackjack the card values are as follows; all face cards (jack, queen and king) are worth 10, the ace can be worth either 1 or 11, and all number blackjack cards (2-10) are worth their face value.

When you begin to play blackjack each player, including the dealer, is given two cards. The dealer will then ask each player if he or she wants to “hit” or to “stand”. If you choose “hit” you will be given an additional card. If you choose to “stand” you will not get another card. This continues until each player has chosen to stand. If your hand is 10 or under you should always hit, because you can receive any card and not reach over 21. If your cards are worth 17 or more it is risky to choose hit because you are at a greater chance of busting. The player that has the closest to 21, without going over ,wins.

If a players first cards are 10 and an ace, this is called “blackjack” this is the highest hand a player can have and it is often awarded with a bonus if you are playing for money.
