Learning the Basics of Blackjack

Blackjack is one of the most popular casino card games. If you have spent any time in Vegas you have surely seen hoards of players gathered around the blackjack table. If you are interested in joining in the fun it is really easy to learn the basic blackjack rules.

The objective of the game of blackjack is quite simple, actually. The goal is to obtain a hand as close as possible to 21 without going over 21. You will be playing against a dealer and you will only win if your blackjack hand is both higher than the dealers hand and equal or less than 21.

In the game of blackjack regular decks of 52 cards are used. A number of decks may be shuffled together. Numbered cards count as their numbered value. Jacks, Queens and Kings count as 10. Aces can count either as 1 or 11, depending on what you need. For instance, if you already have 13 and you get an ace then it will count as 1 as taking 11 for it would put you over the limit of 21.

As the game of blackjack progresses the dealer will offer you additional cards and you must decide whether you want to stay with the cards you have or if you want the blackjack dealer to hit you with another card. As you play and practice you will become better and better at deciding whether or not you should stay or have the dealer hit you with another card and you will find yourself winning at blackjack in no time!
