How to handle bad etiquette in the backgammon game

The backgammon game is a competitive one in whatever format it is played. It is a game of skill and because of this, there are times when backgammon players take losses personally and then take it out on other backgammon players with bad etiquette. Although beating the opponent is part of the fun of the backgammon game, this can be ruined when rudeness comes into play.

Many expert backgammon players have encountered this when playing live, and would suggest ignoring and rude behavior as much as possible. Some backgammon players will apologize for their rolls, or good play, even though it is part of the backgammon game, just to keep the atmosphere light. Others simply leave the game if the other backgammon players become too obnoxious. Whatever you choose to do, always ensure that you complete the post match handshake with other backgammon players as this can cause unnecessary added tension.

Online backgammon has a chat facility in use and this is also open to rude backgammon players to vent their anger. If this happens and is beginning to spoil your backgammon game, take a screenshot of the chat and send it to the online backgammon site support service. The screenshot is important as most chats are not automatically stored on the online backgammon systems. They will deal with the culprit accordingly, although backgammon players will not receive information with regards the result due to the data protection act.
