Make a Winning Hand in a Free Poker Game

A free poker game is a great way for new players to familiarize themselves with the rules of poker. In particular, knowing which cards make up a high and a low poker hand is an especially important aspect of the game to grasp.

The highest hand to aim for when you're testing out a free poker game is a royal flush. This consists of an Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and Ten of the same suit and will win you maximum credits if you're playing video poker and the full contents of the pot if you're playing against opponents with weaker hands.

The second strongest hand is made up of same suited cards in a sequence such as Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten and Jack of Hearts. These cards are known as a straight flush. After this, four of a kind is the next highest hand you can have. If your poker skills are up to the task of making four Queen's in your free poker game, you could be a free poker winner.

Finally the last truly high card you can make is a full house. This is two cards of one suit and three of another. Practising how to make a straight and a flush will also be a good use of your free poker game. And don't forget the opposite end of the scale! On rare occasions, you can still win a game of free poker with the lowest possible hands – a pair and one high card.
