Tips for Winning at Texas Hold'em Poker

High cards and face cards are very important in Texas hold em Poker. That's why you should play your strong hands before the flop in order to weed out weaker hands early in the game before they get lucky.

Aim high in a straight. Don't go for the completing the hand with the lower ranked cards. Also watch out for flops like 7 8 9 which can quickly come out as straights and beat your double high ranked cards.

Be careful playing low ranked pairs, never place high bets on them unless you have a high chance of getting three or four of a kind, otherwise fold.

If you flop a really great hand in Texas Holdem, you can consider "slow" play meaning, that you up your bets in small increments at a time instead of immediately All-Ining it from the beginning, this keeps opponents in the game until the last round so that at the very end you can raise your bet a significant amount or even All-In.

Don't worry about getting caught on a bluff. It's best not to be to predictable and try to make your game play varied that way others have a hard time figuring you out. All the while you should be watching your opponents and their game play and body language to see if you can pick up on any patterns.

Remember, many times bluffing an experienced player gets better results then an inexperienced player because and inexperienced player may not even be aware of the bluff factor and often times automatically raise you because that's how they think the game of Texas Hold em Poker is supposed to be played.
